who are we?
church history
New Remnant Worship Center (NRWC) was founded in December 2013 by Dr. Marcus Motton and Dr. Kimberly Motton in Florence, Alabama. With 13 people in attendance, the initial service was held in the house of one of NRWC’s stable married couples. After a few services there, an unexpected occurrence caused a move to a local hotel located on Florence Blvd. New Remnant hosted its services in the Hampton Inn conference room, which seated approximately 35 people. After experiencing a surge in visitation and membership, NRWC was fortunate to relocate to a bigger facility in late 2014, located at 1107 Florence Blvd. Establishing stability in location, New Remnant began to turn its attention outward by establishing its presence in the community by hosting yard shops, basketball tournaments, cookouts, and back-to-school giveaways. New Remnant established its Sunday School and mid-week Bible Study sessions on Wednesday evenings regarding in-reach spiritual growth. After another surge in visitation and membership, New Remnant was given an opportunity to visit a local church building in the area whose church ministry dissolved during the Covid 19 pandemic. After much prayer and guidance, New Remnant began leasing a vacant church building in August of 2021, located at 6001 CR 47 in Florence, AL, and held its celebration service entitled “It had to be God.” In August 2023, New Remnant purchased the leased building and was excited about the limitless opportunities for ministry, including outreach services in the community and in-reach opportunities in worship and small group sessions. The only option that remains is to be on purpose on purpose!
